Just put up a picture I did yesterday. I took an image from a worth1000.com contest (contest URL below), cut it up into hundreds of 10x10 pixel tiles, and then used the Gimp image mosaic filter to make a mosaic of the original.

I'm still "stuck" in Photoshop....but just found out there are ways to variably apply the dither to portions of an image... hrm...
